The fashion revolution
Monday, December 17, 2012
Hello. How have you been?
So this post, it might not be my area of expertise but I want to write a post about this. So here it goes.
This might be a bit dull so I will post a rather interesting one tomorrow. It's just I had this urge to write this dull post. and publish it.
People are very concerned about their appearance these days. If they have an occasion to attend to, they start to get ready for it week before. They visit fashion designers and express their preferred styles which the designers then obediently design and voila! we are able to see various fashion designs. This sure is a fashion revolution and since everything has its pros and cons wearing fashionable clothe also has both pros and cons.
It has to be agreed that people feel confident when they are more familiar to something. 'Are you afraid of the dark?' Most kids will say yes because they are not used to being in the dark. But once they get older they tend to be in the dark while sleeping and watching movies so they are not afraid of the dark anymore. I lost you didn't I, with the whole trying to--never mind.
Yeah likewise, having a personal style that is unique and that can reflect 'yourself', yet fashionable can give a person more confidence. Also, wearing stylish, yet clean-cut tailored clothes can cause others to take you more seriously, (except Barney Stinson. But I think everyone should suit up because it makes them handsome?) which would without a doubt help you in various ways in the society.
One of the biggest advantages of fashion is that dressing properly and age appropriately causes people to value and respect you more. A person respected in such a way is obviously Kate Middleton. She is the Duchess of Cambridge and people respect her for that. However teens, adults, fashion bloggers, paparazzi, other celebrities, critics (This could go on for a while so let's say everyone) respects her for incredible and elegant wardrobe.
Leighton Meester, she has just started to get invitations from high fashion designers due to her beautiful, yet proper and elegant wardrobe. This shows that trendily dressed people tend to attract more positive attention. In addition to this, some of us (mostly women) enjoy fashion. It makes them well, complete? and if offers more job opportunities to the society. People consider it as a form of art. It is art. Not everyone can come up with lovely ideas. (I mean me)
Despite the merits, opponents might say that fashion can consume huge sums of money. Which is totally true.
"I have nothing to wear." might be the biggest lie most women tell. You have a gigantic wardrobe, the size of a huge room full of evening wear, casual wear, pajamas, shoes, bags, glasses, ear rings and toe rings? Joking. But you get my point. The opponents also say that the fashionable people think more about themselves. They get self-centered and self-conscious. They have to look better than everyone else, which results in people calling preeetty colorful names. Females I mean. Males? Yeah you guys are alien species to me when it comes to this field. Maybe because I've never seen you guys struggle with this 'fashion emergencies' and stuff. It's kind of not fair. School uniform. You get up late and boom where's the damn shirt. Boom. where's my trousers. No need to wear socks. My belt? aah. probably not important. and Kaboom! It's done. I have absolutely nothing against your 'species'.
However, the pros far outweigh the cons. You cannot become someone else by copying their style. You have to be your self in order to succeed in this cruel world. (God. I'm so deep. Jk) Because the world doesn't need another Nicki Minaj.Posted by Sau at 10:59 AM | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |

Wanderlust

Folks at distinct countries have witnessed and experienced different cultures. Mother Nature together with human imagination does not fail to impress us with serene beauty thus making mankind want to travel and explore the resplendent creations of god. Since minority of the people have trouble in selecting a destination to examine geographically, let this post aid you in choosing a destination.
If you are planning to witness the greenery of forests and have a strong passion to explore wild life I suggest you take a journey in the Amazon rainforest. The clump of trees which are said to be ‘jungle-skyscrapers’ which have the shapes you can never imagine would leave you transfixed. Streaks of sunlight filtered through the impenetrable trees which then shine on the mushrooms at the beneath of the trees. The magnificent and unique design of the idyllic meadows full of colorful wild flowers is inimitable. The forest teems with thousands of animal species rarely known by mankind. Amazing isn't it? I am quite sure that you are dying to see the marvelous creations of god and unravel the mysteries of the Amazon rainforest.
Amazon rainforest Greece and Rome are two countries most visited by people from all over to see the ancient ruins, to bask in history and be a part of the birthplace of civilization. The beauty and architecture of the ancient Rome and Greece is admired by all. Take a walk through the Tholos, the heart of the Athenian life in the ancient times. The famous Plato and Socrates taught Philosophy at this circular building. Moreover the temple of Apollo and the sanctuary of the oracle are considered as a very spiritual place. It is believed to have healing powers. The Parthenon was built to honor the goddess of wisdom, Athena from which the city Athens got its name. This enormous creation is the most proud possession of the Greeks.

Standing near it and listening to the sound of the wind blowing through the columns would be a whole different experience. It is the sound of nature meeting human imagination. Describing it in words would not only be impossible but also would not be fair to the mesmerizing creation.
Rome is the city of numerous fountains in various shapes and design. The Colosseum used for gladiatorial combat is located in Rome. There is no better place other than Rome for a person who loves pizza, which is almost everyone. Have the ultimate pizza experience at Rome and toss a coin into the Trevi fountain and help the Romanians to build a supermarket for the needy. Witness the exotic traditions of Rome namely the vase breaking tradition at the wedding where the maid of honor breaks a vase and count the pieces it shatters into which symbolizes the year of happiness she wishes for the bride and groom. To add more ride a bicycle through the rocky Appian Way and get hold of the countryside feel.
The ‘city of lights’ Paris has top the list of ‘places I want to visit’ of most people. Paris has more familiar landmarks than any other place. It is the birthplace of famous artists and writers. People try to learn the French language as it is considered as one of the most pleasant language to listen to. Mastering it would be a pleasure in itself.
The water lilies in Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny area pleasant and a beautiful sight-the painting of water lilies by Claude Monet come to life. The reflection of the branches hanging low from the trees on the pond is magical. Take a walk on the bridge built across the pond and get sunk into the beauty of the Monet’s garden.

Claude Monet's garden
The Palace of Versailles is also one of the many attractions of France. It is pure French classical style. You can see the green trees and the pathway stretching out for miles. The Louvre is known for its complex yet simple design. Paris would be nothing without the Eiffel tower. Taking a ride to one of the viewing platforms at the top of the Eiffel tower on an escalator is a must-do if you are keen in climbing heights. You get to see the panoramic view of Paris from up above. This way it would be risk free and you get to climb the Eiffel tower. At night the Eiffel Tower is lit with hundreds of lights guaranteed to leave you bewitched. Need I say more? Oh and make sure to go on the sunset river cruise on the Seine and wander around Paris in the rain since Paris looks most beautiful in the rain.

The Louvre
Rio de Janeiro. Need I say more? The carnival. The huge Christ statue. Let me rephrase that. Bungee jumping from the statue (I'm not sure it's allowed or not but come on). The various costume and the dances. Samba dances. I am getting goose bumps already just by thinking about it.

I can go on and about travel destinations but I'm going to pen off now. So have a destination in mind already, travel bug? Let the adventurous journey begin and add a page enriched with experience. Remember to tag along our dear friend, camera. Bon voyage!Posted by Sau at 2:38 AM | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |

Pleading hearts-Part 3 (Last part)
Saturday, December 8, 2012
I wasn't going to post 'Pleading hearts' today but many of you guys wanted to read part 3 (which is the last part) today. So here it goes. Oh and thank you for reading this.
WHO reports that malnutrition and hunger are a serious threat to the world’s public health and it is the reason for the increase in child mortality. Most are sticking to the belief that unborn babies in regions where poverty affects the most are lifeless even before birth. The mother does not get essential nutrients for the healthy growth of the baby growing inside her, thus resulting in underweight babies. The Hunger Project mentioned that one out of every six infants is born with unacceptable weight in the highly advanced countries. The new born child lacks the most vital nutrients and care required to spring up into a healthy child. They are deprived from water-the readily drink which most of us consume eight glasses of it a day. Even the few who manage to gain water usually suffer from cholera and various water-borne diseases. The enlargement of a vast figure of health related disorders may be the result of unbearable hunger and no access to health services. The cheerless tales of these innocent, helpless souls need to be prevented.

It is the duty of the people of mature age and governments to put their maximum effort in bringing a halt to the disgusting acts. It is a must to provide education and replace child workers with adults. Driving out poverty would definitely dwarf the child labor and inadequate education. Governments, organizations and even individuals need to make generous amounts of contributions to aid the children in need and help them get back on their feet.
It is every child’s right to continue their life as a children and not an employee. We must provide them the chance to live as a child and see the world as a better place other than a cruel, challenging world. The government also needs to enforce labor laws and monitor the young workers well. It was published in The New York Times that in 2008 China exposed an abusive labor ring, rescuing more than 100 children from the factories in Dongguan, setting an example to all the other nations. This is the kind of news we want to read and hear. Over-whelming and progressive indeed. The volunteers, NGOs with the government need to conduct awareness programs throughout the nations.
Organize awareness programs about family planning and contraception methods will decline the numerous children living their miserable life in poverty. To add more awareness programs should be conducted for the public. They need to accept the children who come from lower classes and erase the difference between ‘classes.’ People need to pop out of the bubble where the majority is under the impression that everything is influenced by wealth. The governments need to be corruption-free and should not be biased. This way we can eliminate the challenges that has been snatching the good night’s sleep of the youth and most of the responsible men and women of age.
We cannot bring a stop to these horrifying events overnight, it will be time consuming. It’s true that we should have acted ages ago however brooding over the past would not do any good. Grown-ups need to step up and instead of pointing fingers at one another they need to shape up the future of today's children or the world shall forever be doomed.Lest we shall reap what we sow.

Desultory facts
Friday, December 7, 2012
My last two posts were a bit serious so here's something 'not serious'.
1. As a child Johnny Depp was surprisingly allergic to chocolate. (Probably children's nightmare. I'm sure he was quite disappointed when he went trick-or-treating.)
2.Nicole Kidman is scared of butterflies. (I hope she doesn't get butterflies when she's with her husband, Keith. That would be just err I don't know. If she's scared of butterflies she wouldn't want to get butterflies in her stomach, right? )
3.Taylor Lautner has a black belt. (That's kind of cool, I think)
4.Robert Downey Jr dated Sarah Jessica Parker in the 1990s. (I think it's good that they split. Just my opinion. I'm kind of a huge fan of him. Who can resist the charming Tony Stark and the clever Sherlock Holmes, eh? Oh and I'm not a fan of Sarah Jessica Parker.)
5.Matthew Perry is missing part of his middle finger on his right hand due to a door-shutting accident. (Not his toe? In F.R.I.E.N.D.S Monica dropped a knife on his foot and he lost his toe. I needn't say this. I'm sure you guys remember the thanksgiving episode where she and Joey stick their heads up a turkey's ass. Wow. I felt like Red Forman for a while. "My foot up your ass". He is a great dad.)
6.As a second grader, Jamie Foxx was so talented at telling jokes, his teacher used him as a reward. If the class behaved, Jamie would entertain them. (That is one clever teacher. I wouldn't mind being in that class. But I'm certain kids these days won't behave in the classroom just for jokes. )
7.As a child, Jim Carrey wore tap shoes to bed just in case his parents needed cheering up in the middle of the night. (That is so sweet? )
8.Julia Roberts' left eye tears up when she gets nervous. (At least she can't lie about not getting nervous on set.)
9.Usher holds the Star Search record for the longest note by a child: 12.1 seconds. (Impressive!)
10.Every 15 seconds, a Beatle song is being played somewhere in the world. (No doubt there. Love them.)

Pleading hearts-part 2
Thursday, December 6, 2012
A child must have a nurturing childhood filled with excitement and fun. The uncountable kisses and hugs from their loved ones, getting treated like a prince or princess on their birthdays, being a darling should definitely be a part of the childhood. The memory of childhood needs to be worth cherishing. However child labor snatches away this one bit of joy from them, leaving them in absolute misery. It is to my greatest dismay that some of the children, those who are not tenacious consider suicide.Since the children are exposed to a great deal of hard work at such an early age they are faced with harrowing ordeal, due to the extended work hours with limited hours of sleep, raiment and food. Mostly they are scarcely provided slices of bread and water with seldom tips from their master-workmen..jpg)
The CNN freedom project covered a story about children working in the cocoa fields of Ivory Coast where a boy named Abdul of 10 years old,a three-year veteran of the job mentioned that he has never tasted chocolate. He works for a chocolate factory yet he does not know what chocolate tastes like. Shocking but true. There are a great number of youngsters working in these fields excluding Abdul. They dream of attending school and lead a normal, blessed life like every other child, only this has remained as a dream for them. In addition to this young workers tend to get injure themselves frequently. A co-worker of Abdul from Ivory Coast, Yacou (who claims that he is 16 years old even though his face tells otherwise) finds it impossible to clear away the grass in the cocoa fields from a machete without bruising himself badly leaving scars which are visible on his legs. The mental, emotional scars must run deeper than the physical scars. It has been stated in the Child Labor Education Project that most of the studies in various countries have shown that children working in agriculture are exposed to high levels of injury. Unfortunately most of the juvenile work in the agriculture. Above all, child labor contributes to poverty, a life of poorly paid hard work with nothing except mournfulness.
The massive challenges faced to humanity today are due to poverty and it is to our greatest joy that this issue has been brought to a global level and made a serious issue. However efficient actions haven’t yet been taken to diminish the numerate people living in extreme poverty. According to UNICEF Nearly one third of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are underweight while almost half of Asia’s 1.27 billion children live in poverty, bereaved of food, safe drinking water, health or shelter as said by a development agency in a report. Tearful but true. As mentioned by the Global Issues 2.2 million children die each year as they are not immunized, at the same instant 1.5 million children are orphaned due to the deathly HIV AIDS which is equivalent to the gross of children population in the United Kingdom.
Numerous factors contribute to poverty. It comprises factors such as overpopulation, disproportionate education plus employment, debasement of natural resources, apathy, high standards of living, natural disasters and much more. Overpopulation diminishes the land space and resources, hindering the availability of them. Especially the countries which depend on agriculture can provide food for a small crowd. Furthermore governments are unable to provide educational facilities to the citizens, which persuade the parents to enroll their children in labor. The parents cannot give them a home-based education as they too do not have acquired knowledge in their youth. Nearly 70 million children today are prevented from going to school each day as published by The Guardian. Researches fear that the children who belong to families with low income are most likely to miss the academic years due to the variation between lower, middle and higher classes.
Unemployment is directly proportional to poverty. People with no jobs make inferior amounts of income, contributing to poverty. It has been mentioned in ‘The Hunger Project’ that 1.4 billion People in developing countries live on $1.25 a day or less which is 1/5th of what most people spend in a day.

Hello. How is your day so far? What's new today? I added a 'reaction' thingy to my blog? You will notice the 'funny, interesting and cool thing at the end of each post. Today I'm going to post something different and something most people won't read. This was an essay I wrote for Gulen Institute Youth Platform in January. I just felt like posting parts of it. It's about challenges faced by the youth. It's extremely long so I will post it in parts.
Here it goes.
The authentic, most precious possession of the superior is without a shadow of doubt-children. It is those children who shape-up our future, they are the key holders of our future. Our responsibility is to ensure that they are well facilitated with the necessities to prosper and emerge into the leaders we want. It gives me great sadness to say this has not always been the case. Those little hearts are faced with various challenges, making it almost impossible for them to become what we expect. It includes Poverty, violence, child labor, child neglect, gender inequality and what not.
Children struggling with these challenges may not be witnessed in Maldives however it can be, in our neighboring countries namely India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Time and again I have observed 10 year old in India, peddling goods (mostly hats, toys and flowers) from car to car in congested traffic. These young souls have no knowledge of any other language other than their mother tongue and are unable to do 3rd grade math. They communicate with foreigners via sign language. The probability of the majority of people rejecting their offers is greater than accepting their offer.
They had to make a run for the pavement in time for the green light. Alas some ill-fated children could not reach the pavement in time for the green light resulting in cars running over their dusty bare feet. The agonizing cry can be heard for a distance yet not a single soul seemed to be bothered by this heartless act. The children are spotted wearing ragged thin clothes covered in dirt which barely provide warmth in the winter and protection from sunlight in the summer, clothes which are not even suitable for the scarecrows today.
The doleful expressions of these youngsters are hidden beneath layers of dirt, longing for provisions at least once. They appear to be undernourished and possibly dehydrated. The shedding tears of the helpless children are heart-wrenching. I have witnessed the children in tears, and on the news, making headline, screaming with agony which is the main reason I chose poverty and child labor.
India accounts for
the second highest number of child labor Africa is the highest. It has been
statistically proven that 215,000000 children worldwide are laborers and more
than 53% of them work in risky, unsuitable environments. The hazardous work
among age 15 to 17 has alarmingly increased from 52,000000 to 62,000000 between
2004 and 2008. Sub-Saharan Africa is also among the two regions that account for
the massive poverty along with South Asia.According to UNICEF, 25,000 children
die each day due to poverty. Around 27-28 percent of all children in advancing
countries are calculated to be underweight or hinder from growth. To top things
with it is to our greatest horror that approximately 70 million children across
the globe are thwarted from attending school as published by ‘The Guardian.’ Poverty,
child labor and lack of access to education have a correlation with the
majority of challenges faced by the youngsters.
This is appalling indeed and we need to act fast.Children should definitely acquire skills in various fields except they are considered as slaves. This ruthless act by our superior can only be described as a crime and sickening. Children are the leaders of our future and treating them like this is just preposterous.
It is essential to reflect upon the efficient causes of child labor. The principal cause of this horrifying act is poverty, the cause of the uncountable challenges faced to humanity, according to the ‘Child Labor Public Education Project’ as well as ‘Oracle think quest’. The children are left with no alternatives except departing their families to set out for hard work. Secondly, it is mainly due to the absence or inability of the governments to provide education. The parents are usually urged by the low-priced and unorganized labor, sending off their children to work. In 2001 and 2002 around a hundred and fifteen million children of primary-school age were destitute of Education as published by UNICEF. Unemployment of parents has become a major factor of child labor.
According to the ‘Roots of Child Labor’, curing UNICEF’s 1997 State of the World’s Children Report, "The parents of child laborers are often unemployed or underemployed, desperate for secure employment and income. Yet it is their children - more powerless and paid less - who are offered the jobs. In other words, says UNICEF, children are employed because they are easier to exploit."Furthermore, most traditional families believe that a new born child is a mean of earning greater degree of money. The children are introduced to the family businesses at a young age, trained for long hours and flogged ruthlessly if they disobey. Some of the young workers were kidnapped and tricked into employment at times. The violation of existing laws and imperfect laws and enforcement also contribute to child labor.
This would do for now. I will post part 2 later and thank you for reading this. Take care.Posted by Sau at 2:38 AM | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |

Filthy rich rats.
Tuesday, December 4, 2012
It's been way too long. Sorry. How are you doing? Fine I hope. Here's something to think about 'Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes from it.' ? Let me know who do you think it is, okay? Now, let's talk about something serious.
I wish I were a billionaire. This is probably something a whole heap of people says. But this is my first time saying this so if you would kindly bear this just for this post.
It's only natural to wish to become a billionaire after seeing 'The lives of filthy rich billionaires.' I'm certain they will wipe their tushies with turquoise toilet paper which is sprayed with perfumes extracted from squeezing dry dollars. Seriously I wish I were a billionaire. Think of all the places I could travel. Oh wait. Let me rephrase that. Think of all the countries I would own if that was even possible which I'm sure would be possible for a billionaire.
So I have been thinking about my first day of living like a billionaire. I will first fly to Verona. Drive to this amazing cheese factory at the outskirts of Verona. and smell the cheese. Oh holy mother of all the cheeses that smells like heaven. Then taste the wonderful cheese flavors. Maybe even make grilled cheese with freshly made farm bread. I think I'm a bit turned on right now. Haha. Jk. But seriously cheese cellars. You have got to admit it has a nice ring to it.
After my lovely evening at the cheese factory. "Thank you very much George. Here is $500,000 to replace the plate I broke today. and here's another $900,000 for letting me smell all of your cheese." I don't know the name of the factory owner. I just think that he will be a George. Like King George. George of the jungle. Jungle of the George.
That was absolutely lovely. I better head to the vineyard at the end of this street and squish some grapes. I want to cry right now. Because first a cheese cellar now this? I shall swim in the massive container full of grapes. and have a grape fight.
I want to go bungee jumping off the Christ statue in Rio. Skydiving. Scuba diving. Plain diving. I want to jump off the STRATOSPHERE TOWER IN LAS VEGAS! HOW DID I FORGET THAT? and the insane roller coaster rides.
I would also want to buy a mega yacht. It would be bigger than that rich dude's 'secret' ship. and a jumbo jet which has a hot tub in it. *sigh* I want to cry right now.
That's what's on my mind. for now. I think I might upload something again tonight. So I guess I will see you tonight.
