  1. Pleading hearts-part 1

    Thursday, December 6, 2012

Hello. How is your day so far? What's new today? I added a 'reaction' thingy to my blog? You will notice the 'funny, interesting and cool thing at the end of each post. Today I'm going to post something different and something most people won't read.
This was an essay I wrote for Gulen Institute Youth Platform in January. I just felt like posting parts of it. It's about challenges faced by the youth. It's extremely long so I will post it in parts.
    Here it goes.

The authentic, most precious possession of the superior is without a shadow of doubt-children. It is those children who shape-up our future, they are the key holders of our future. Our responsibility is to ensure that they are well facilitated with the necessities to prosper and emerge into the leaders we want. It gives me great sadness to say this has not always been the case. Those little hearts are faced with various challenges, making it almost impossible for them to become what we expect. It includes Poverty, violence, child labor, child neglect, gender inequality and what not.
Children struggling with these challenges may not be witnessed in Maldives however it can be, in our neighboring countries namely India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Time and again I have observed 10 year old in India, peddling goods (mostly hats, toys and flowers) from car to car in congested traffic. These young souls have no knowledge of any other language other than their mother tongue and are unable to do 3rd grade math. They communicate with foreigners via sign language. The probability of the majority of people rejecting their offers is greater than accepting their offer.

They had to make a run for the pavement in time for the green light. Alas some ill-fated children could not reach the pavement in time for the green light resulting in cars running over their dusty bare feet. The agonizing cry can be heard for a distance yet not a single soul seemed to be bothered by this heartless act. The children are spotted wearing ragged thin clothes covered in dirt which barely provide warmth in the winter and protection from sunlight in the summer, clothes which are not even suitable for the scarecrows today.

The doleful expressions of these youngsters are hidden beneath layers of dirt, longing for provisions at least once. They appear to be undernourished and possibly dehydrated. The shedding tears of the helpless children are heart-wrenching. I have witnessed the children in tears, and on the news, making headline, screaming with agony which is the main reason I chose poverty and child labor.

India accounts for the second highest number of child labor Africa is the highest. It has been statistically proven that 215,000000 children worldwide are laborers and more than 53% of them work in risky, unsuitable environments. The hazardous work among age 15 to 17 has alarmingly increased from 52,000000 to 62,000000 between 2004 and 2008. Sub-Saharan Africa is also among the two regions that account for the massive poverty along with South Asia.According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day due to poverty. Around 27-28 percent of all children in advancing countries are calculated to be underweight or hinder from growth. To top things with it is to our greatest horror that approximately 70 million children across the globe are thwarted from attending school as published by ‘The Guardian.’ Poverty, child labor and lack of access to education have a correlation with the majority of challenges faced by the youngsters.

This is appalling indeed and we need to act fast.Children should definitely acquire skills in various fields except they are considered as slaves. This ruthless act by our superior can only be described as a crime and sickening. Children are the leaders of our future and treating them like this is just preposterous.

It is essential to reflect upon the efficient causes of child labor. The principal cause of this horrifying act is poverty, the cause of the uncountable challenges faced to humanity, according to the ‘Child Labor Public Education Project’ as well as ‘Oracle think quest’. The children are left with no alternatives except departing their families to set out for hard work. Secondly, it is mainly due to the absence or inability of the governments to provide education. The parents are usually urged by the low-priced and unorganized labor, sending off their children to work. In 2001 and 2002 around a hundred and fifteen million children of primary-school age were destitute of Education as published by UNICEF.  Unemployment of parents has become a major factor of child labor.
According to the ‘Roots of Child Labor’, curing UNICEF’s 1997 State of the World’s Children Report, "The parents of child laborers are often unemployed or underemployed, desperate for secure employment and income. Yet it is their children - more powerless and paid less - who are offered the jobs. In other words, says UNICEF, children are employed because they are easier to exploit."Furthermore, most traditional families believe that a new born child is a mean of earning greater degree of money. The children are introduced to the family businesses at a young age, trained for long hours and flogged ruthlessly if they disobey. Some of the young workers were kidnapped and tricked into employment at times. The violation of existing laws and imperfect laws and enforcement also contribute to child labor.

This would do for now. I will post part 2 later and thank you for reading this. Take care.

  2. Filthy rich rats.

    Tuesday, December 4, 2012

It's been way too long. Sorry. How are you doing? Fine I hope. Here's something to think about 'Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes from it.' ? Let me know who do you think it is, okay? Now, let's talk about something serious.

I wish I were a billionaire. This is probably something a whole heap of people says. But this is my first time saying this so if you would kindly bear this just for this post.
It's only natural to wish to become a billionaire after seeing 'The lives of filthy rich billionaires.' I'm certain they will wipe their tushies with turquoise toilet paper which is sprayed with perfumes extracted from squeezing dry dollars. Seriously I wish I were a billionaire. Think of all the places I could travel. Oh wait. Let me rephrase that. Think of all the countries I would own if that was even possible which I'm sure would be possible for a billionaire.

So I have been thinking about my first day of living like a billionaire. I will first fly to Verona. Drive to this amazing cheese factory at the outskirts of Verona. and smell the cheese. Oh holy mother of all the cheeses that smells like heaven. Then taste the wonderful cheese flavors. Maybe even make grilled cheese with freshly made farm bread. I think I'm a bit turned on right now. Haha. Jk. But seriously cheese cellars. You have got to admit it has a nice ring to it.

After my lovely evening at the cheese factory. "Thank you very much George. Here is $500,000 to replace the plate I broke today. and here's another $900,000 for letting me smell all of your cheese." I don't know the name of the factory owner. I just think that he will be a George. Like King George. George of the jungle. Jungle of the George.

That was absolutely lovely. I better head to the vineyard at the end of this street and squish some grapes. I want to cry right now. Because first a cheese cellar now this? I shall swim in the massive container full of grapes. and have a grape fight.

I want to go bungee jumping off the Christ statue in Rio. Skydiving. Scuba diving. Plain diving. I want to jump off the STRATOSPHERE TOWER IN LAS VEGAS! HOW DID I FORGET THAT? and the insane roller coaster rides.

I would also want to buy a mega yacht. It would be bigger than that rich dude's 'secret' ship. and a jumbo jet which has a hot tub in it. *sigh* I want to cry right now.

That's what's on my mind. for now. I think I might upload something again tonight. So I guess I will see you tonight.

  3. F.R.I.E.N.D.S

    Thursday, September 1, 2011

I used to laugh at ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ freaks. I know what you are thinking. “She is not a human”. It’s inhumane to not to be a fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Anyways, I started to spend some of my lying around time to watch (F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a long word, so I shall write F.R.I.E.N.D.S. as F.S)

Two months ago as I did not have anything worth doing and I wanted to get the jokes of some of my friends. The first season was alright. Starting from the second season I was compelled by the incredible episodes to keep watching them.  It was captivating. As a result I found myself in a place where I watched around 15 to 20 episodes a day. The episodes are around 20 minutes unlike the series aired today which lasts for at least 40 firkin minutes.

I was appalled when it ended. Seeing the empty apartment at the end was really painful. It’s good that I’m tenacious ;). My eyes thought it would be a good idea to kill germs on my cheeks by dropping droplets of salt water otherwise known as tears. It’s hilarious because I have been crying over a series which ended in 2004. It’s ludicrous, I KNOW! *Monica tone*. I should have watched it back then however I was in 4th grade so I don’t think my parents would be cool with that.
Now I remember Star World aired it at that time and whenever I see it I was like ‘Who would watch that? Bleh! I should get back to my cartoon’ Lol :P.

My favorite protagonist was Phoebe Buffay. The amazingly bizarre yet witty woman. :D  The one whose mother killed herself and stepfather who was sent back to prison and who started living on the streets at the age of 14 and who abstain from meat. Her wedding in the snow was mesmerizing. To add more no matter what others think I think she is a skillful singer and guitarist and who has one of the best music videos ever. Oh there are no words to describe how much I adore her.
Mr and Mrs Bing were the hottest couple ever in the book of couples. :P Monica would be the coolest wife ever without a shadow of doubt indeed. I mean I know no wife who would call in a stripper for their husbands and a wife who would buy porn for their husbands. Oh and be so cool about running into husband’s annoying ex all the time. OH MY GOD *Janice tone* About Chandler I have no words. Even though Monica thinks the person at her work is the funniest person ever, I will say Chandler Bing you are a comedian.

Dr. Ross Geller-the divorce master. The we-were-on-a-break guy. The one who has no control over his sperms. The one who says the wrong name at the altar. The one who has the beautiful Rachel Green. The one who owned a monkey. The one who had a lesbian wife. The one who is crazy about dinosaurs and fossils. That says it all. Rachel Green. Famous for running away from her own wedding leaving the man at the aisle. The spoilt daddy’s girl. The one who got a nose job. The one who is the mother of Ross’s baby. The one who is extremely gregarious. Say no more. Joey Tribianni. The one who has a whole heap of talents on his resume. The one who never shares food yet helps himself anytime he wants from Monica and Chandler’s refrigerator. The one no woman seems to say no. The absurd yet cute person. The one who has a lot, I repeat a lot of sisters. The one who is Dr. Drake Ramoray in Days of our lives. Oh my! This post is really lengthy. I should pen off. But before that How you doin’?

  4. Top Chemistry reasons

    Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Ten reasons why I 'used' to hate Chemistry:

    1. Our chemistry teacher in 8th grade was a huge liar. (I'm serious. He didn't teach us mole concept but ticked in the list which is handed to the supervisor and he promises to send me to the toilet if I listen to him and later ignores me when I yell "sir" at the top of my voice.)
    2. Diamond is hard, not soft.
    3. All the chemicals keep spilling onto me.
    4. I cannot taste the chemicals (I'm sure If i got to taste the chemicals I would have fallen in love with Chemistry at the beginning of my 8th grade)
    5. Blue litmus becomes shy the moment an acid arrives.
6.Metals dump their partner for stronger and powerful metal.
    7. Cations forget about me and are always attracted to the cathode.
    8. Carbon dioxide spills milk when lime water is in taken.
    9. Isotopes have the multi-personality disorder.
10.Oxygen plays the big brother role for aluminum.

Top 5 reasons why I love chemistry now:
    1. I fell in love with the pink color of phenolphthalein in alkaline solutions.
2.Hydrogen is the well-known pop artist commonly known as "the princess of pop".
    3. Francium is a nuclear bomb.
    4. Helium takes me high up in the sky.

  5. I less than three you, red high heels

    Monday, October 18, 2010

Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock. High heels! When u are wearing a high heel everything's high namely u, ur legs, ur dress and ur height. I have always been fascinated by high heels, specially red ones. Red one indicates that u are confident and since it is a vibrant color it radiate positive energy. But red high heel's indication is completely different for me. Red shows that u can murder any one at any time. It shows that RED colored blood flows through ur body unlike others. The biggest advantages and the reasons I admire red heels is that it goes very well with faded jeans (just my view). I adore them cuz they are red and heels. Unfortunately I am not able to wear them =/ I know "awww! thats horrible!" Some people rush to break the heels since I am, u know, to-ah-alll -.- I mean tall >.<  (8) Oh red high heels! how I wish to wear you..!! (8)
    ........So I’m going out tonight
            In my red high heels

I’m gonna call up that old boyfriend
You said still has it bad for me
I’m gonna take him into town
Flaunt him around for everyone to see
            Well you said so yourself
            You know the deal
Nobody holds a candle to me
In my red high heels ..........
That was background music :) I thought that u guys might want background music O_O Oh well! Nites! Oh and wish me luck, tomorrow I have English exam. Sleep tight sau, sleep tight all of you <3

  6. The 'untitled' bunny

    Sunday, October 17, 2010

This week a friend of mine and I had a debate about names. The debate was mainly about a topic which wasn’t worth debating. It was about ‘Aishath SauSUN’ and ‘Aishath SauSHUN’. As you can see SauSUN is better than SauSHUN. SauSUN radiates positive energy in all of us since the word ‘sun’ is included in my name. However, SauSHUN radiates negative energy in all of us since the word ‘sun’ is missing from the name. Shun doesn’t have any meaning, it was just included in the name for easy pronouncing (since the kids find it easy to pronounce ‘SH’ words than ‘S’ words. I did a lil research on ‘names’ and I’ve come to a conclusion that if a person is extremely good at saying ‘ugggghhhhhh’ then name that person as ‘pleasant noise’. Call ‘Charm bomb’ if one is very charming. ‘Peach’ is probably the best name to call your ‘the one’. A fashionable person who gives you advice in almost everything you do, the most appropriate name for that person would be ‘The fashionable mom’. Call ‘Casper. The friendly ghost’ to people who are gregarious. If someone is stubborn and is a pain in your ass then call that someone ‘restriction’. Call ‘fungi’ to people who usually comes with a booger to the school. ‘Lolly pop’ is the best name to call to people who blocks your way in a cinema. Stop calling nerd to people who are enthusiasts in studies instead call them ‘Life ruiner’ (This is cuz parents mostly include their names in lectures)
whatever might happen keep Bunny, peach, cream, cheesecake, blueberry, pie, shortcake on the top of your name list.
PS: I posted this boring post cuz I haven’t blogged in a while. I hope you wouldn’t consider this post as ‘boring’. (A)  Xoxo

  7. Bubbles in my brain

    Saturday, September 4, 2010

    -->
Hey guys! Yesterday I came up with a series of questions to annoy my mom. It went like this.
Me: “Mom! What was I like when I was about 2 years old?"
    Mom: "Like a girl?"
Me: “Did I cry a lot?"
    Mom: "All the kids cry"
Me: "Did I laugh a lot"
     Mom: "Everybody laughs"
Me: “What will happen when I wake up and find that you aren’t there?”
Mom: “You will cry to grab attention” Me:
“What if no one was outside?”
Mom: “Then someone else will hear it”
     Me:”Nobody was home”
Mom: “The neighbor will hear you” Me:”She wasn’t home either”
     Mom: “Then the next neighbor?”
Me:” Each and every person in our district weren’t home”
Mom gave me an are-you-insane stare and said “How is that possible *you are impossible*”
Me: “They had to go to their dentists and doctors.
    Mom “All of them?”
Me:”Yeah! The doctors took all the days off for the rest of the week.”
Mom gave me a you-are-driving-me-nuts look.
Me: “What if I fell from the bed?”
Mom:”Why will you fall from the bed when it’s fenced?”
     Me:”I climbed over it.”
     Mom:”You can’t climb over it.”
Me:”That’s possible. Okay! When I fell there was a scorpion on the floor”
Mom gave me a you-have-bubbles-in-your-brain stare and she was annoyed (A)
